The main reason that I was intrested in taking Library Sciences was because books are an entire different part of the world that i've never really got into and learned about personally. There is millions of titles, authors, and series that I don't know exists, and that kinda bothers me because I know that theres something out there waiting for me to discover it, I just haven't found it yet. Throughout this course i want to discover atleast two authors that I enjoy or a good Series that draws my attention, because the only types of books I read right now are Archie Comics, and they're my passion and they are such a habit with me that sometimes I spend hours on end reading, and lose track of time! The last book i read? I can't recall exactly, but the last Comic I read was, Archie & Friends Issue #1, and yes it was a great comic.
Learning Commons I think to help made our Library less of a Traditional Library, and more of a Learning Common environment we would have to keep up to date on the technology. Yes, we have plenty of computers but there isn't iPads, Websites, Apps, etc... For example, say you wanted to renew a book, but you were away on vacation. Wouldn't it be cool if you could just enter the code and send it to our Library's confidential App or Website to renew it? I think that would be super cool and everyone would participate because its easy, and there would be less people waiting to check out their books. Or maybe on a Website, we could make a customized quiz where you type out information about yourself, and then when you Submit it, it sugguests a bunch of books that would be recommended for you! Thats the type of website I need haha...
